When will MetCard Xpress tickets be available (was: Re: Purchasing non-ATM tickets? (Melb))

I am a regular Met traveller and have a Yearly Ticket. From what I have
seen and read, yearly and monthly tickets will be replaced with MetCard
Xpress tickets.

Does anyone know anything about the MetCard Xpress ticket? What is it?
How it works? How to get one??? When..???
