I think we made a list of the passenger train code a few weeks ago.

First letter - region
C = Illawarra
H = SUburban
N = North
S = South
W = West

Second letter - train type
E = Electric loco
L = Diesel loco
N = Endeavour
P = Xplorer
R = Railcar
S = Steam loco
T = XPT
No letter (i.e. 3 digit number after the region) = electric multiple unit.

Number - service number.
Odd numbers = down, even numbers = up.
