Re: Last suburbans on Warragul line

Hi All:

Spark observations from Fri-4-12-1998:

* 13:51 down Warragul was 464M-1014T-328M-487M-1052T-427M, running on
time, forming the 16:16 up Warragul (427M leading), also on time.

* 16:21 down Warragul was 343M-1010T-384M-432M-1066T-431M, running on
time, forming the last weekday Up service, at 18:29. It ran on time (431M
leading) and crossed the last Weekday down service at Nar Nar Goon.

* 17:45 down Warragul was Hitachi 126M-1908T-128M-188M-2004T-167M.
(Hitachi's are rare at Warragul).  This was running On-Time to early, at
times running at over 120 kmh. (Comeng's can't \ won't go that fast!).
It then stabled in Warragul yard (usually stabled in the track next to the
down pfm), forming the 06:53am Up Warragul the next morning.

Sat-5-12-1998:

* 06:53am Up Warragul was Hitachi listed above.

* 06:24am Down Warragul was a 3 car Comeng, and after arriving at
Warragul, returned to Dandenong empty. (Usually stabled at Warragul until
Monday mornings).

* L1162-4BE-14BRS-12AE ran one of two special trains to Warragul, leaving
Spencer St at 10:22am

* 470M-341T-327M (ElecRail's Tait train) was the LAST down Spark to run to
Warragul, departing Spencer St at 10:29 and arriving at Warragul at 13:14

* 327M-341T-470M then formed the LAST up Spark and left Warragul station
at 14:06, picking up photographers and leaving Warragul at 14:10.

* L1162-12AE-14BRS-4BE then ran the LAST up Electric train, leaving
Warragul station at 15:30 and after picking up photographers, left
Warragul at 15:33.  It ran through Pakenham 7 mins early, at 14:14,
therefore L1162's pantograph was the last pantograph to pick up
electricity from the Warragul line beyond Pakenham. It arrived at Flinders
St at 17:15.
