One further point on Brisbane's Edward Street Line. The only safe working on the
Edward Street line covered the last one and a half blocks which were the
steepest. After leaving Turbot Street and on approaching Annn Street the trolley
pole tripped a coloured light signal at Adelaide Street. ALL TRAM traffic on
Adelaide Street was halted until the descending Edward Street car crossed the
only right angle double track crossing Brisbane had that didn't have any
turnouts.
