They sure were. And the boiler was lit up at 14:35 for test steaming.
It's not in the frame yet (that comes after the test steam, they're
waiting to see if any further work is required). So some time in the
next couple of days the whistle of R711 may well ring out over Ballarat
(BXT) :)

You read the post right, I was pretty worried to roll up at Geelong and
nobody knew where it was. Then the fuel point called "what are supposed
to do with this S class??" :) Phew! Apparently V/Line 'forgot' to
attach it to 9138, so it went on 9140 (?) up Mildura goods up the
straight.
