At one stage Jeff wanted to bring ships right up to the old turning absin
again, which would have required demolishing the bridge.

The line was built with dual gauge in mind, but the only actual sections
of dual gauge were the level crossings. As recently as last year there was
yet another attempt by Patricks (the main user of Webb Dock) to open the
line again, only to be told no by the government.
