The local poli Max Trenordan has just announced that there will be new
railcars to replace the Prospector on the Northam - Toodyay - Perth run. It
will take 2 years to make them. They are to be standard gauge ie 3' 61/2" so
that they can pull right into Perth station. At present they must drop all
passengers at East Perth and then change to a local electric train to get to
Perth.

The commuter type service from Northam - Toodyay - Perth has been a huge
success. Toodyay has grown 25% + since the service started. New subdivisions
etc. Many more Perth people will abandon the city for country living if only
this Neanderthal government quit trying to put us all into cars and repaired
the existing rail structure. The have just announced increases of $100 -
$400 vehicle license per year to fund 1 billion dollars worth of new roads.

Who need it. This is madness.

Gees you guys, dont get me started on this stuff!!! ;<)
