One flaw - fewer votes than a freeway upgrade. And that after all is what
it's all about. Make railways a political issue and you might see some more
action. After all there are many years in the last 30 years where the
pollies didn't spend one cent on an Australian railway. How many years in
the last 30 has less than the equivalent of 1998 $1 billion dollars been
spent on Australian roads. I would bet you could count them on less than one
hand, if you needed a hand to count them with at all.
