There are 1500v jumpers between the cars!.

The K and C sets have the pantograph on the trailer car (T) and feed the
1500v back to the (C) control power car. The reason for this was to make
space in the control power cars for the air-conditioning equipment, the
area that was the pantograph bay is full of air-conditioning gear.
C-T-T-C is the basic configuration, a pair of pairs, the C-T pair needing
workshop attention to seperate due to the 1500v feeds, they dont unplug
like the MU and 415v auxillary feed lines. (The chopper sets are now
mostly C-T-T-C-T-C 6 car formations).

Tangaras also have the pantograph on the trailer car, but they have
control trailers and non driving motors. They are D-N-N-D configuration,
ie the trailer cars lead, and the motor cars are inside. Tangaras need
workshop attention to seperate any car, not just the pair, but the D-N
pair needs just a little more attention to seperate than the N-N part
due to the 1500v feed. (Probably less than 5 minutes extra work, the power
leads need to be unbolted from the terminal box, quick release connectors
for that voltage/current range probably don't exist!)
