GrainCorp branchline agreement

Both the Southern Highlands News and the Parkes Champion Post had
articles about a 'heads of agreement' signed by both FreightCorp and
Graincorp to permit the use of GrainCorp crews on wheat trains from
May.A subcontracting arrangement will permit up to 12 staff to operate
trains out of Parkes and Temora and load at silos on selected lines.
The arrangement at Parkes will initially cover the main western line
out to Eubalong West and the Tottenham branch line.FreightCorp will
take over once the train gets back to Parkes.Where and how the crews
will be trained or come from was not specified but it would certainly
lead to some silo staff being replaced by train crew.
