1619 train ex Sydney to Newcastle delayed at Berowra and north for aprox 55
minutes due to lightning strike at Hawkesbury. Guard on train was very
difficult to understand and he was not talking clearly enough. I phone Woy Woy
and they gave me the rundown. Then the driver cam on and confirmed. Woy Woy
tole me that they were expecting the train due there at 1623, at 1740 so there
must have been a bank up of trains.
Southbound Countrylink services were also delayed over 1.5 hours.
We arrived Gosford platform 3 and let NT1 pass through on 2. We arrived
Fassifern 1 hour late at 1932.
At least the guard did when we could hear him, provide a laugh when he said
that they are working on the 'snag' and hope it will be fixed soon.
