Strange Car in Eveleigh Sydney

I've noticed an interesting carriage sitting just inside the old ACDEP site
in Eveleigh, Sydney.

The carriage in question is just inside the shed, and is coupled to a 3801
Limited brake van which is just outside the shed.

This carriage is painted in XPT colours and has "XPT Sleepers" labelled on
the side, near the top of the doors. The carriage is interesting in that
it has a very square cross section - no rounding of corners at all...
nothing like the normal XPT cars. It hasn't moved from that spot in many months.

Anyone know what it is?
