While we're on the subject of this train, the Black Thursday
ex-Melbourne was (from East end) NR91
"Chullora",HM959,8BJ,7BJ,3RBJ,AG373,6BJ,CDF9246,2AJ,Tawarri,Allambi,PCO4

CDF is the "Matilda" style 'restaurant' car.
The AG's are an interesting looking car. Their construction appears to
be the same as the J cars, only real difference is that the areas which
are maroon on the J cars are instead silver on the AG car. The AG car
has modern seats though. Can anyone tell us much about those cars -
were they built around the same time as the J cars?

And the roomette sleeper cabins showed evidence that tables were once
fitted to the wall opposite the bed (brackets on the wall), but tables
are not fitted.

Cheers,
CH.
