Well Poddy, obviously you didn't listen to Bob Hawke in Raintree Park in
the early 80's when he promised the railway line. ("Territorians, I
promise you, that if elected, my Government will ...")Also, you've not
been watching the drawings and models at the Darwin Show for the passed
10 or so years. It was always intended to be a freight line from East
Arm wharf (container port) to Adelaide (possibly with a left turn near
Tennant (haha, good old Sir Jo)). There was never any intention to run a
passenger service, but discussion was considered into inviting a
seperate (AN in those days) operator to run trains, mainly for o/s
tourists.
