Olympic Park operations for the Sydney Easter Show

My observations of the first morning of the Show trains suggested that
the new station etc. was performing well, despite some delays on the system
generally. These delays were typically just a few minutes, and were not
enough to disrupt the service significantly at its current frequency. However
I would think that disruptions of the same magnitude to a full-density olympics
service would be much more drastic, in that track occupancy problems
on the loop itself and (especially) at the flat junctions would be pretty
severe.

Some trains brought in quite substantial numbers of passengers (one
about 10 30 brought maybe 600) while others were almost
empty. Officials were saying that the numbers exceeded expectations,
although that suggests that the expectations were rather conservative since
there was no overall impression of significant crowds.

Trains headed for destinations via Lidcombe were using the inner loop
and those going towards the city were all off the outer loop. This appears
to be the regular intention.
