Havnt a clue, but schedule 4 & 5 or the Sale Act specifically make mention of
the fact that any new operators will NOT be required to take on any AN staff
as part of the sale conditions.
The Labor party & the Democrats tried unsuccsessfully to move amendments to
ensure that at least the infrastructure ie the track remained in Govt
hands, but this amendment was defeated, thanks to Colston & Harradine.
It seems that the Feds are getting out of Railways altogether.
Interestingly on another issue, the seat of Govt Railway Act of 1922 , is also
repealed, which means that Queanbeyan to Canberra is up for grabs.
The Leigh Creek line goes indirectly to the SA Govt, but will be
operated by the Power Company that runs the Port Augusta Power Station, dunno
what with.
Who gets lines like Wolseley to Mt Gambier??
What happens to ANs Headquarters in Keswick, (anyone want to buy a building).
Maybe the whole show will simply grind to a halt , when the current AN train
controllers are offered their redundancies.

cheers
