The Camberwell sidings at Flinders Street between the Burnley local and
Burnley through lines have almost been removed. The points connecting
them to the main lines have been removed and the siddinge ripped up and
overhead moved. With this set of sidings removed it prepares for the
continuous occupation of the four Burnley group lines and platform 2 & 3
at Flinders Street for the period of 15 Nov to 30 Nov 1997. An altered
timetable for this period has been developed.

When these four tracks have been relined that will complete stage 1 of
the 6 stage process of the Jolimont Project.

For the rest of the stages see
http://www.ecr.mu.oz.au/~cmgord/trains/works.html#jpr

The New yard at Camberwell Station now Has all the turnouts in the yard
in place and the up and down exit on to the up line installed. The
overhead continues to go up and the turnouts connected to each other.
It now looks like the sidinge will be like this

To Alamein
\ \ ___________________:
\ \ /____________________
\ \ /_____________________\ <--- New Yard Will
hold
\ \ /_______________________\ 4 six car
trains

____\____/_________________________\_______________ To
Melbourne
______/_\ * Plat 1+2 * / \______:
\___________ ------->
____/___
\___________________________/____/____________________

\______\_______________________/_______________________
\_____/ **************
* Plat 3 *
To Box Hill
<-----

It is still not clear how the connection at the Melbourne end will
connect to the center and down lines.

Also there will be three of the siding with an exit at the Melbourne end
and all four at the Box Hill end.

Does any one know how the Burnley sidings are going? They seem to be
putting the overhead wire up now.
