I take it that Sydney 8 car sets are generally 2 * 4 car sets combined. And
then 12 car sets are 3 * 4 car sets?
I haven't been to Sydney for a long time (since I was about 12), and I
don't
remember what's the longest length of combined sets that are run on the
metropolitan lines? It is 12, or 16 car sets (or is it less than this)???

I'm also interested in how often and on which lines these longer
combinations of sets are run? Is it just during peak hour, all day and on
which lines (the question also follows, which lines have the most
patronage)?
