A few corrections to the above - sorry to be pedantic, but...

NRR is based at Casino and has entered into a contract with
Freightcorp to supply power and crews for the flyash and cement
traffice north of Grafton. NRR has not "taken over" from Freightcorp -
this is an important distinction.

Also it will be an associated company, Northern Rivers Scenic Railway
that proposes to operate the tourist train to/from Murwillumbah. It is
not certain yet how much of the branch will be traversed, it may be to
Byron or Bangalow from Murwillumbah - still under descussion.

Southern Cross Express is the name for a failed venture running
between Sydney/Canberra and Melbourne. Some of the cars from this
venture will be used, but that is the only connection between the NRR
company and the former venture.
