NT 4 Minus rear power car

If you read the current issue of Railway Digest you may have noticed a
small story about NT 4 returning to Sydney minus the rear power car on
8/8/97. It was caused by the throttle handle breaking on 2009 at Leeville,
just South of Casino. As 2009 was leading, the train could not continue.
The defective unit was detatched at Leeville and the train returned to
Casino, where the other unit was detatched and turned at Old Loco. The
train continued to Sydney without 2009.
2009 was repaired at Leeville that day and returned light engine to Meeks
Road arriving at 3.00am.
As a side issue all throttle handles have or will be replaced in the near
future
