They were originally PCO, the powered version of the CO van (O meaning
Overland, I assume). When AN bought out the PTC's equity in the joint
stock cars, V/Line took two PCOs and a club car (which became Victoria) as
part payment. I think there were some modifications made to the PCO when
they were reclassed PCJ.
