The Melbourne - Albury route was not dual gauge; it was a separate parallel
line.
A short branch from it from Somerton to Upfield (to serve a Ford factory)
had gauntlel track.

In 1995 an sg route to Adelaide was established. Dual gauge from a
junction at Tottenham via Brooklyn to Newport; new track to North Geelong;
dual gauge to Gheringhap; conversion of broad-gauge track to Adelaide.
Certain Victorian branches were converted to standard gauge: Dimboola -
Yaapeet, Murtoa - Hopetoun, Ararat - Maryborough (with dual gauge then to
Dunolly); Maroona - Portland.
