I have only just answered a similar query. RailPage.Australia does not
have Canberra - Melbourne on its interstate section, and does not carry
Countrylink timetables. It has a link to the Countrylink page, which also
does not carry Countrylink timetables (why does Countrylink bother to have
a page?). Countrylink offers an e-mail us facility, so I did: no reply.

You could go by VLine train and bus, findable on RailPage under VLine
north-east and east.
