This is just a continuation of the ignorance being displayed by many
webmasters. For all new enhancements to HTML, there is a way of providing
content to older browsers. Anyone who makes money from HTML and is too
lazy or too ignorant to do this is cheating whoever is coughing up the
money. Amateurs who don't do it are just lazy or ignorant.

It would be nice to see if some of the people who posted replies to this
thread had actually read the page from which the quote was taken. It
explains what needs to be done and why.

As for the theory that only government pages "have no excuse"... this is
rediculous. For example, why should blind people (or anyone else) be
denied access to, say, a TV Guide which is available to others, just
because Java was the only way to navigate. A more direct example is the
Optus web site. What good reason is there that certain people should be
denied access? An alternative can and should be provided.

If anyone can point out a single example of where Java has been used and
no alternative could be supplied, please do. I've yet to see such an
example.
