Why do they (The Met) do this??

Hi,

whenever I work on Saturday morning's, I take the 6:58 spark
ex-Rosanna. For some reason which really has me wondering, when we get
to Clifton Hill, this (up) train uses the 'down' platform. We site in
the 'down' platform for a couple of mins, while a down spark uses the
'up' platform. I use the 'inverted commas' because Clifton Hill is
signalled for 2 way operation. But why switch platforms? This happens
regularly on Saturday's, and serves only to confuse commuters (who have
to rush around to the opposite platform), and delay trains (waiting for
those commuters).

Cheers,
Craig.
