The bus building contract went to what was Ansair, largly for the
quality of the Orana body design. Prior to that the bodies of most
buses were bulit by Pressed Metal in Sydney. However Ansair had no
plants in NSW, so part of the agreement was that Ansair would build a
plant in NSW to build most of the Sydney Buses Scania's. Sadly Ansair
has now gone, brought by Austral Pacific, for the Orana, so too has
Ansairs main Tullamarine plant.
