Are you sure about that 125 David.
I know that AN tested the EL's with passenger stock on
the double track speedway between Crystal Brook and
Coonamia. The CLP's were given a work out as well.
I travelled the Ghan with twin GM's and even they were
well above the max permissible on this section.

The reason I ask this, is that the arrival times of the
Ghan were variable at the best of times, and whether
there were GM's, a CL, an EL or CLP the times were
fairly consistent, taking into consideration the delays
from opposing trains.
