The trouble with old Ghan stories is that so much has
been tossed around, it is very hard to separate fact
from fiction. There was an orgy of famous Ghan tales
in the final year of the narrow gauge, with about 90%
of them pure crap, even the BBC's Great Railway
Journeys joined in with the pregnant lady story.
Local groups along with taxi and bus drivers in Alice
Springs have helped to perpetuate a few of them.
