Preserved steam loco at Whyalla

I was looking at a photo at work, which had in the background, a steam loco.
It was a tank engine of British origin. It was too far away to see details,
but appeared to be a 2-6-2. Does anyone know the history of this unit? Also
visible was what appeared to be an ex-SAR Centenary coach.
