I cannot imagine this ever happening, unless a politician thinks he can
win an election by doing it. It could never be justified on ecconomic
grounds, but that has never meant much to our pollies.

The current fleet of 2800's operates through to Brisbane now, due to
their ecconomies of operation.

It would make much more sense to continue track upgrades, and to finish
the work that MLU left undone.
