Whoa. Timetables were displayed at every stop prior to the Kennett
govt arriving in Oct '92 - and as far back as the early 80s, if I
remember rightly.

After the Kennett govt got in, they reduced peak frequencies that
summer, and ripped out all the timetables from stops (even though the
off-peak frequencies, for which you are more likely to need timetables,
hadn't changed).

They then introduced new frequencies in mid 1993, and the timetables
came back to stops. Most routes had maintained their reduced peak
frequencies, some had reduced off-peak/Saturday frequencies (eg routes
3/5/64/67 altered from every 12 to every 15 minutes.)
