If I was a potential buyer or perveyor of rail services to the State
of Victoria, the state of the rail infrastructure would be a real
turn-off. Just like running a freight service on a pot-holed road
would be dangerous for a "B" double, a pot-holed rail track is just as
bad. Anyone who tenders for a rail service operation must be either a
complete idiot or have more faith in rail than what's healthy for them
and their bank-balance.

There ya go Craig, you can dust off R711 now and let 'er rip.

Maybe they 're expecting more pheonix-built "R"'s to rise from the
ashes and once more take over the state's rail services?

For sure. Did you tape it for posterity?

Must be expensive to have two crews to run the train or did they m.u.
the R to the shafts? (;-)
