Peter and Mike,

I seem to recall last week or so, a young boy was killed by a Belgrave
line train at Upway (apparently he was walking along the track with his
dog). This happened around 4.30pm. That may have caused some
disruption to the afternoon peak on Belgrave/Lilydale line trains. From
what I heard, all Belgrave bound trains terminated at Upper Ferntree
Gully.

In some cases, cancellations and disruptions are beyond the control of
the P.T.C. Incidents, such as suicide, accidents, and vandalism do
happen and some happened at the worse possible time (ie. during peak
hours). Of course, there are also the usual causes, such as breakdowns,
signal failures, etc.
