All the following is AFAIK

All On Board staff (ie non train crew) are based in Adelaide for all
trains.

Train crew -

Overland crews run Adelaide - Wolseley (AN crew), Wolseley - Dimboola (PTC
Dimboola crew), Dimboola - Melbourne (PTC crew).

Ghan runs with 2 x 2 person crews relaying every seven hours or 500km out
and back. I'm not sure if the relay crews are based at Adelaide or Port
Augusta. If it is the latter then I would guess that a regular 2 person
crew runs to and from Adelaide.

Indian Pacific runs Sydney - Lithgow (Freightcorp crew), Lithgow - Parkes
(Freightcorp crew), Parkes - Ivanhoe (Freightcorp crew), Ivanhoe - Broken
Hill (Freightcorp crew), Broken Hill - Adelaide (AN crew), Adelaide - Port
Augusta (AN crew), Port Augusta - Kalgoorlie (2 x 2 person AN crews
relaying), Kalgoorlie - Merridan (Westrail crew), Merridan - Perth
(Westrail crew). I think Ivanhoe may be/being cut out as a crew change
location so that would make the run Parkes - Broken Hill.

Locos work out and back on Ghan and Overland. On the Indian locos are
changed in Adelaide with one CLP usual west and two CLPs east. Sometimes, I
believe, one of the pair that head toward Sydney is the unit that brought
the train in from Perth.
