Air brakes...... :)

I daresay a few WAGR purists went ape over that one. I remember one WA
railfan turning up at Queenscliff and abusing all and sundry, how DARE we
put buffers and screw couplers on V1209!

OTOH, a group of Queensland railfans were quite impressed with the fitting
of vacuum brakes on ex-QR brake van DAV1056. They were also quite amused
to see PB15.454 with SAR double chopper couplers and ex-SAR T251 with QR
screw couplers.

Along similar lines, ex-TGR M6 has V1209's Hasler speed recorder and V1209
has the one out of X20. X20 has the one out of M6, which is still imperial.

BPR now has a substantial fleet of dual braked passenger cars. Air brakes
were fitted to a number of TGR cars in the early 1980s. WAGR brake vans
Z112 and ZA200 were similarly fitted, along with buffers and screw couplers.

Cheers
