Later news- loco involved was N452, the truck was heading north in Kelly
Street and struck the leading bogie of the loco derailing it and injuring
one of the two drivers and six passengers. The loco was derailed towards
the down side ie away from the SG but the semi and a few thousand cans of
Pal and My Dog ended up on the SG halting all traffic for three hours. The
southbound XPT had left Albury and was halted before the collision site and
returned to Albury (bloody lucky, eh?). The train (8311) was about 20
minutes late and the 'accident' occurred at about 3.40pm. It is alleged
that the truck driver was blinded by the setting sun but this sounds fishy.
Heading North with a large warehouse on the west side (I thought that the
sun set in the west), next to the LC and the sun setting at 3.40pm????????
