It's quite possible, at least for the locos built by Phoenix Foundry.

At one stage, possibly on delivery, the Baldwin DD's were a slightly
different colour, more brown than red. It was either officially or
unofficially named "Baldwin Brown".

Back in the mid-1980s, about the time most country locations got 3
services each weekday, there was a proposal to offer motorail on some
services. I know the lunchtime Albury and Warrnambool services were
two of those suggested.

When WCR apoke at ARE a few years back, I asked about this. IIRC, they had
thought of it too but V/Line refused to release any of the VMAPs for lease
or sale.
