Re the previous thread on this subject.
Malkari came to Albury on 28/11/60. As the SG was not opened until 14
months later can we assume that it ran down to Albury on the BG and was
gauge converted in Albury using a transhipping crane.

I believe that NSWGR had a 24 hour strike on 29/11/60. (anyone confirm or
deny?)

So the car would probably left Albury on the Wednesday (30/11); I can find
no record of any special trains running on that date so was it hauled in a
regular consist or did it leave Albury on a later date?

Can someone confirm that the loco used in the tests was 4447 and where did
the test trains run to/from.
