Hi David

Are you aware that AN have, I think on last count, only
ONE permanent employee in Alice Springs these days.

The only AN Train into the Alice is the Ghan which is
handled by the Contractors that clean the Train.!!
The Contractors are Berkeley Challenge which is part of
the P&O Group.

The Ghan's brake inspection is now carried out by the
NR Brake Inspector.

We used to have over 200 people working for CR-ANR-AN
up here once.

Privatisation and National Rail Corp did NOTHING for
Alice Springs, and very soon AN as the original
Corporate Body will disappear for ever.

Oh ..... by the way, NR have a hand full of employees
based here. Of course they have taken advantage of the
infrastructure built by CR-ANR-AN and are now telling
us and the Politicians how efficient and cost effective
they are.!
