It is alleged that one train that had just arrived at Manor on the up
had not relinquished his authority ,when the train in the loop at
Manor received his authority. This means that there were two live
authorities for one section!

As an interim measure all trains in ASW between Newport and Maroona have
to verify all electronic authorities by phone before accepting them. The
P.T.C. has set up a special phone number for this purpose.
