The train was MP5 and the incident occurred at Mundrabilla. It seems that
the loco and the first seven vehicles turned into the loop and the next
twenty two vehicles continued along the main line piling up and causing two
separate dangerous goods leaks. Many new rail wagons and motor cars were
damaged. The train was approx 1500 metres long. I'm not sure if any reason
has been established yet but there is a rumour floating around that the
Indian tried to do the same thing a few weeks ago, the only difference
being the pass was not derailed.

The Law of Inverse Proportions - The chances of the signal clearing without having to get out of the cab and go to a lineside phone is inversly proportional to the amount of rain falling at the time :-)
