SP5/PS6 run via Broken Hill as you mentioned, these are now the only NR
trains running via Broken Hill to and from the East coast.
The Parkes - Adelaide train you mention is actually an ore train that runs
between Cobar and Port Pirie once a week.
The Perth/Newcastle, Perth/Brisbane and Whyalla/Newcastle trains you
mention are NR's "Steelink" services used primarily to convey steel
products for BHP and these trains all run via Melbourne.
