MET in Melbourne

Why do the MET keep the gate on platform 1 at the West end closed?  They should close the one in the middle.  It is very stupid.

I also noticed that they have a sign for the drivers after they have left East Richmond which says "Have you made a P.A. anoucement yet?"

All is now normal again for the trains at Flinders Street.  They have changed the tracks at the east end of platform 2+3 so there is only 2 instead of 4 or so like before.  The platforms are much the same expect the platform 3 is now the same height as the train and there are no seats anymore.
