My Bendigo timetable (long)
The recent thread about V/Line Passenger possibly ordering more Sprinters
included my thought that there could possibly be an hourly service to
Bendigo. Being rather bored tonight, I wrote a possible weekday timetable.
All Bendigo services would be worked by a 2-car articulated Sprinter with
1st and economy class seats. Peak services may have other cars attached.
Kyneton and some Sunbury services would be worked by 2-car articulated
Sprinters with only economy class seats. Some Sunbury services,
particularly those up trains formed by detaching cars from down trains,
would be worked by a single 7000 class.
The Echuca and Swan Hill Sprinters would be single cars with some 1st
class seats, possibly converted from existing 7000 class cars. One car
would work Echuca - Bendigo - Swan Hill - Melbourne each weekday, and
another would work through Melbourne - Bendigo - Echuca. The extra
connections to Swan Hill means the unusual Friday only workings to be
cancelled and give better use of car sets. All would be booked seat
services.
There would still be two locomotive hauled passenger trains each day, most
likely an N class hauling an FN set. All except 8028 would be booked seat
services.
Sunbury and Kyneton trains have been used as sweepers where possible. I
think the most useful change is extending the 15.12 Sunbury to Kyneton
making this the service which stops at Rupertswood for school children
(and saving them 30 minutes of waiting time), thus allowing the 15.50
Bendigo to me made into a limited express.
