What about the new Sydney Airport railway, and then there is the new
Olympic passenger line, replaceing the old goods line. In the near
future, the extension of the Eastern Suburbs line to Bondi Beach. Most
of the Suburban rail network has had its signalling replaced and track
upgraded in recent years. The extension of the east hills line is not
that old.
The upgrading of lines is dependent on demand for the line.
We see a continued growth of rail under government owernership, but
were are the new private railways. All are hot air waiting for
subsidies of one sort or another from government.
