The logic that says gas looses out to the same logic when coal is
mentioned, ie we have more of it.

This is just silly season talk to keep peoples interest up. If they are
smart, they will use the latest and biggest standard guage locos available
running in quad+ configuration and let someone else develop the exotic
engines.

If they are really smart, they won't even buy the engines, just let
contracts for shifting the goods, but for the life of me, I can not see why
exporters in Melbourne are going to want to ship goods to Darwin first and
have double handling.
