Trains, Promises and NT Elections

The Northern Territory Government has called an election for
August 30. The Alice Springs to Darwin Rail link has bipartisan
support and will not be an issue as such.
BUT the ALP has already accused the Federal and Territory
Governments of holding off a decision to jointly fund the NT and
SA from Federation funds until polling day to maximise the
Conservative vote. The Labor Party also claims that the SA
Government will also announce an Election to coincide with the
Federal announcement of funding.
Apparently all of this started when an article from a newsletter
called "Inside Canberra" stated that the Feds will announce
funding for the Rail link within in the next two weeks.

Cheers
