: 11 Dg-class locos (A1A-A1A) were reclassified Dh; they had had the
: springing adjusted to put more weight on the traction axles.
The Dg class was nearly all moved to the South Island and all received the
springing adjustment, whereupon the Dh class reverted to Dg. They were
then rebuilt with a similar cab to the Di.
