There is a linked chain of events. VLine has placed an 80 km/h speed
limit from Violet Town Loop to Wodonga Loop, causing 25 minutes of
lateness. In Melbourne, the loss can be made up by tightening the
turnround from 90 minutes to 60. In Sydney, the morning arrival forms
NT25. There has been other late running; presumably some of the really
late Fassifern times are of a set which could not be serviced between a
really late arrival and the scheduled departure.
One of the problems of the XPT implementation was the location of the
depot out of town, requiring longer turnround times.
Pre March: 6.45 arrival for 11.35 departure.
March on: @7.15 arrival for 12.35 departure.
