The next Rail 2000 meeting will have as speaker

Max Michell, Samron Pty Ltd, direct from the Rail 2000 conference.

With a bumper grain harvest in South Australia and more and more new operators
on the rails, tonnages through the Adelaide Hills are at an all time high, but
trains are expected to follow a mainly steam age alignment with tight curves
and steep grades making it the most woefully inadequate stretch of interstate
rail infrastructure after sections of the Sydney-Brisbane route.

Max will provide an illustrated presentation exploring some medium cost
options for improving alignments and train operating practice through the
Adelaide Hills.

The meeting is on Monday 5th May 7:30pm at the Disability Information &
Resource Centre, 195 Gilles Street Adelaide (just East of Pulteney Street)
convenient to bus routes 161, 191-198.

All are welcome, bring a friend. Refreshments will be provided.

Admission by donation of $2.
